There are some things you just have to deal with.
Like your hot as hell college booty call moving in next door with his adorable daughter.

The only time we’ve ever gotten along is under the sheets. Old habits die hard because two minutes on my front porch is how long it takes us to bicker.
Not that a little fact like that bothers my healthy, eighty-year-old grandmother and roommate who’s determined to see me married before she bites the dust.
Unfortunately for me, she’s got her eye set on Cameron Black.
She’s barking up the wrong tree. He’s not The One, no matter how much I swoon when I see him with his daughter. I have no intentions of rekindling anything with him—until a rubber spider in my mailbox starts off the mother of all neighborhood prank wars, just like the ones we had in college, and throws me right into his path.
One that leads right to his bedroom…

They used to be friends with benefits for 2 years at college and when he graduated, he just left her and never called her again. This broke her heart.

Years later, they meet again but this time he has a child from another woman. That's a kind of second chance romance I hate.

Firstly, I will never buy their LOVE. If they had been really in love back then, they would have been in a committed relationship, not just f*ck buddies. They had 2 years to decide what they were feeling about each other.

And besides, she stayed celibate but he had a child from another woman. How unfair! How unromantic! Where is the romance in that?

After a hilarious Tequila,Tequila, Frenemies is a disappointment. Usually a second chance romance is one of my favorite trope in romance.

In Frenemies, even the grandma can not save th strory. The story is more about 2 immature characters throwing prank to each other. And acting like 10 years old.

The prank is not even funny. Instead it signify how immature the characters are. I stop listen around 2nd hour of the audiobook.

Frenemies; A friend turned enemy. Imogen and Mason used to be friends with benefits. When college finished Mason never called. Now years later Mason is moving in next door.

Immy lives with her loud mouth gran. She is an artist and loves her job. When she sees her new hot neighbour, Imogen knows there will be trouble. His daughter is cute but he's pranks are old school. With great chemistry and a medalling grandmother, this is about to be one hot mess.

Witty, fun and full of flirting. A fab new addition to Emma Hart's romantic comedies.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book is a standalone story however gives hints to Emma Hart's next book Number Neighbours.

I'm out at three-quarters. I've been dragging since about midway because seriously, they're both weak idiots. The breakup six years ago was completely a case of neither being grown-up enough to admit to having feelings and since they were in college, it doesn't say good things about them. But worse is that Imogen is still fully in that mode—despite knowing it was at the root of her pain back in the day.

And the prank war is wearing, too. I hate when one, usually the guy, lands all the hits and the other, usually the girl, fumbles and stumbles over herself humiliatingly. Why is this such a strong pattern in prank-war stories? Also, the pranks are all either mean or lame.

Grandma Jen distracted me for a while, though. She's kinda funny. Until I realized that she's also a one-trick pony who leans into the crass.

I crashed out just as Mason finally had the guts to say what he felt and they were headed up to his bedroom to do the deed. And I just couldn't care less. Which was a sign I was done. I'm giving a second star for the couple of times I laughed out loud.

Frenemies to Lovers | Neighbors to Lovers | Second Chance Romcom

Raise your hand if this cover caught your attention? It certainly did mine! I love her covers. They’re appealing to the eyes with the bold and vibrant colors! I think it’s these that actually started my reading journey with her work! There’s just something about a pretty cover that gets me every time!

Frenemies by Emma Hart is a standalone, frenemies to lovers, neighbors to lovers, second chance romance. That’s a lot of tropes rolled into one and I ADORED IT. Immy and Mason are quite the pair and watching the two with their prank wars and hilarious banter is so much fun. Immy’s grandmother is a woman after my own heart and I loved her dirty mouth, questionable choices at book club, and the way she interferes with her granddaughter’s love life. I swear, I was laughing out loud so much while reading it! In terms of the romance, theirs was pretty slow as their past was rearing it’s ugly head around every turn, but when it finally comes together for these two? FIREWORKS! I’m so glad this wasn’t an insta love story because it would have felt two easy.

All in all, this is a fantastic romcom and I cannot WAIT for Hanna’s story in Number Neighbors which releases in March. That cover, just like this one, is GORGEOUS!

I really enjoyed Frenemies by Emma Hart.

The storyline is well written, it's entertaining from start to end, I laughed, I swooned and then laughed some more and I fell in love with all the characters, especially Grandma Jen, she was a hoot! lol

I loved watching Immy and Mason get their second chance at love. They were funny, passionate and at times frustrating but overall they were two souls who truly belonged together.

Frenemies is one of those books once you start reading you won't want to put down.
I'm so happy to have read it and I highly recommend it.

I love Emma Hart's books, have been a fan forever it seems, to this day my favorite will be Holly Woods Files, favorite..If you haven't read please do so..Ok Let me get to this one. So we meet Imogen who has a crazy grandmother, and we seem to have a lot of those, anywho Jen(crazy gran) is looking out the window when she sees a hot piece of (you know) and Imogen does not want to hear, when she looks out the window who does she her long lost love, the guy who broke her heart and never called after being together for 2 years, now they both said it was casual and no feelings involved but they were both lying. Now here comes Mason with a child in tow, and is shocked that it was the girl that he never forgot. Imogen claims that she is mad at him because he never called and is hurt by this, however she didn't act it, she was always at his house, regardless is grandma wanted her to take baked goods, if she really wanted Mason to have the goods she could take them, but nooooo Imogen would go then say I am mad at you and do not want to be friends. I loved the old ladies, and I liked Imogen I just wish she got a heart felt apology and actually made him work for it. Mason, don't tell me you loved her and she is your soul mate, the girl you never forgot-bull buddy you would have called had that been the case.

rcvd an arc at no cost to author..voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.

4 super cute and funny stars!

“It was a look I felt everywhere–the kind of look where you just knew not an inch of your body had gone unnoticed.”

Frenemies is the latest romantic comedy from Emma Hart that will have you in stitches laughing one moment, and swooning in the next. Emma Hart really steps it up with this second chance, enemies to lovers story.

Frenemies follows the story of Imogen and Mason. Imogen is pretty happy with the life she leads. She’s a starving artist who runs her families art studio and puts up with her meddlesome grandmother. Grandma Jen is determined to find a suitor for Imogen before she dies, and unfortunately for Imogen, she’s got her sights set on their new neighbor. However, their neighbor is anything but a stranger. Imogen knows him up close and personal. He’s the guy who never called and took her heart when he left. But, no matter how hard Imogen tries to stay away from Mason, fate keeps throwing these two back together. Will Mason be able to convince Imogen that he made a mistake and win her back?? There’s only one way to find out….

Frenemies is a laugh out loud good time. This book sucked me in from the very first page and kept me begging for more. I loved Imogen and her family. Her grandma Jen and friends were hilarious. I loved how nosey and meddlesome they were. Grandma Jen really took her antics seriously and wouldn’t let anything stop her from being matchmaker!

And then we’ve got Mason….Yeah, Mason messed up big time. Him & Imogen were only supposed to be a booty call all those years ago, but somehow along the way, feelings got involved. And when Mason left town, he took Imogen’s heart with him. And now that fate has connected these two again, Mason isn’t about to let Imogen slip away. Mason not only had a heart of gold, but was a terrific dad. I loved how real and honest his relationship was with his ex. I liked that they were able to still remain friends and co-parent without all of the drama. I knew that Mason would be a terrific match for Imogen, if only should forget the past. And last but not least, we’ve got Imogen. She’s a starving artist who caters to her grandma & her crazy friends. She’s got a good heart and a snarky attitude. I loved her smart wit and the banter she had with Mason. The tension between them was delicious and I couldn’t wait to see how their story would end.

Overall, Frenemies is a terrific read to spend your day getting lost in. You’ll laugh. You’ll swoon. You’ll find yourself shaking your head. This book was such a good time, I never wanted it to end. And the best part, there was absolutely no drama!!

If you’re looking for a fun and entertaining romantic comedy, look no further. Frenemies is the romance that you’ve been waiting for!

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

Frenemies was a fun and light read. I always enjoy second chance romance novels, and this one was no different. Immy and Mason dated in college and now, 6 years later, they're suddenly neighbours, but there are a whole bunch of new things about them. Namely, Mason has a 3 year old daughter.

I liked the way that this was an easy going read. Whilst there are some old hurts and feelings from the past, and these two snarking at each other, it wasn't too over the top, which I sometimes find in books. It was kind of a just an addition to their personalities, ones that hadn't changed too much over the years.

There are so many fun things about this book, from Grandma Jen, to Maya, to prank wars. And how can I forget the book club? A really nice and fun read, and definitely recommend.

Oh, and I look forward to the next book, which I believe is about Hannah...he he he.

Sooooooo funny! As always! And really I connected to this one because I like that her “frenemy”, Mason, was her FWB from college. I didn’t take a lot of notes as I was reading because this was such a page-turner I just sped through it! It’s a pretty light-hearted story, not a lot of major drama. The feels are real, but not deep. And that’s okay, I like to have a sweet and light and refreshing story to enjoy like this one. I loved that Immy knew how important it was to make sure Mason’s daughter was considered in all things, but I also loved that Mason, and everyone around Immy, told her that it was his decision to make, not hers. That felt so realistic to me. It was also such a unique relationship that Mason had with his daughter’s mother, or his baby-mama, as they say these days.

I look forward to a book about Immy’s cousin which we got a bit of a teaser at the end, as well as little quips here and there about her British neighbor. It might not be considered a series, but I love that they are connected.

I usually really like Emma Hart books but sadly this one fell flat for me.

The characters were over 30 and were still playing pranks and still couldn’t communicate very well to one another. Found them extremely immature.

Grandma Jen was the show of this book thou. Loved her character.

Imogen doesn't really have the best timing, "...and I raised my hand to knock on the door right as it opened. Instead of hitting the door, I hit Mason. At least it wasn’t in the face. “Good morning to you, too,” he said dryly..." Me thinks Mason is jealous when his woman's focus isn't just on his balls, “you don’t need the garlic balls. You’ve spent enough time with mine!” I liked this book, Imogen's granny was crazy, Maya was the cutest little girl and I loved Mason.

I'm normally a big fan of this author but this story in particular fell flat for me. This was a lot of surface; not a lot of depth to anyone or anything that actually happens in the book. The grandmother and her gang were a bit over the top for me as well. Everything just felt really stiff and disjointed. I put it down numerous times only to shuffle my way through to a very abrupt ending and an epilogue from a month later. Most likely this is a case of me, not the book, but it felt lacking and rushed in almost every aspect.

Note to self: don't read any of Emma Hart's idiotic novels with the most immature characters ever again.
The grandma. Oh GOD. Was she supposed to be entertaining? Cute? Quirky? I don't get it. I hated her character. She was annoying as heck and I wanted to slap her (never thought I'd say that, jeez) for ruining every scene. The main characters were almost 30 and didn't have one single proper conversation like adults. I don't know why I punished myself with this book. Ugh.

This was a cute week story with two characters who are attracted to each other however refuse to admit their feelings. They meet coincidentally after many years and discover the attraction is still there.

This was funny and enjoyable to read. I especially liked the sense of humour from the grandmother. She was the highlight of this book.

5 massive star read.

One of my favourite authors of this genre she always knows how to pull you into a story with her brilliant unique style of writing and addictive characters.

So this is Mason and Imogen's story. This is actually a really hard review for me to write. On Sunday my grandad died and this was the book I was reading when it happened. Afterwards I needed something to keep my brain occupied so I picked up the book and carried on where I left off. Even through my grief the characters made me smile and laugh with them. I loved the relationship between Mason and Imogen, how they had a past and fate seemed to throw them back together. Imogen's grandma was another great character, I loved her meddling and you just knew with her stirring things along that Mason and Imogen would have to end up together.

A great lighthearted fun read with hilarious characters and tricks. Thank you for keeping my brain off other things for awhile and making me smile even through the tears.

I can't wait for the next book after meeting the characters in this book you know already it's going to be another good one.

This might be my new favorite Emma Hart book… it was just so funny and adorable. I am a sucker for the single father trope, as well as friends/enemies to lovers, and this combined them all very well.

Immy and Mason start their new neighbor relationship with an all-out prank war, which was super amusing. It brought back a lot of my own college memories. But to see them grow into friends, then admitting the feelings they’ve always had was amazing. I love their friendship and how comfortable they are together despite the years apart.

Mason’s daughter, Immy’s grandmother, and a puppy who refuses to behave fill the book with a variety of comedy to balance out the trouble Immy has from moving on from the past. I also love that Mason is friends with his ex/daughter’s mother. I think that really added to his lovable personality (as if him caring for his three year old didn’t already melt my heart). There are also, of course, the steamy scenes. The first time he kisses her… I went back and read those couple lines like three times because I loved it so much. Arguing before kissing will always be one of my favorite things in a book, and this one was perfect.

As always, Emma did a great job of sucking me into the story and keeping me there. It was very hard to put down! The only reason this review is so late is because I’ve been insanely busy. Things should be calming down in the next week or two, which is good because I really need to go through and read all of Emma’s older books now!

Emma Hart is back with a new series. Frenemies is book one and what an introduction to this series! It’s a romantic comedy with prank wars, and a meddling Grandma and I adored this one! It is a standalone that hits on several tropes: second chance, neighbors, frenemies, and single dad. Imogen is living with her crazy Grandma, when the new neighbors move in: her college ex, Mason, with his 3-year-old daughter. You can imagine she’s quite surprised and angry! What ensues is her matchmaking Grandma getting involved and an epic prank war between Mason and Imogen. The pranks were hilarious and quite clever! While I loved all the characters, Imogen’s Grandma was my favorite. Her antics were snort-worthy! This was a one-sitting read for me, which rarely happens. I did want a little more out of the ending, but I’m hoping in the next book we’ll get more from Imogen and Mason. Looking forward to Hannah and Isaac’s book next! It’s a cute, lighthearted, fun rom-com and I enjoyed it so much!

Another gem from one of my favourite authors of this genre, a hilarious start to this year! Read on and you won't be disappointed, be prepared to snort, giggle and laugh.

When Imogen finds out that the ex who ghosted her in college moves in next door, not only do sparks fly, but also water balloons and flour bombs. Add to that a very nosey and interfering grandma with no filter and you have the perfect set up for some very funny scenarios. Happy managing the family business albeit a love life found lacking, Immy's life isn’t exactly boring because living with grandma Jenn gives her heart a jumpstart every day.

Our hottie hero Mason Black is a lawyer and single dad to a precocious four-year-old girl. All is well with his ex partner and is actually on friendly terms with her and her fiancé. He is in for a shock though when he finds out his new neighbour is his former bonking buddy Immy. There was no closure between them so he owes her an explanation.

What I love about Mason and Imogen’s story is that there is no third party drama and no angsty heartache. However, with their history they both needed closure because they need to move on...or do they? Their characters can be silly sometimes with all the pranks which I felt a bit childish for a couple in their late twenties but it sure provided the giggles in the book.

This is a fast-paced standalone romance told in dual points of view. The secondary characters, especially Grandma Jen is the root cause of all riotous scenes with her BDSM book club buddies. I hope I will have their chutzpah when I reach that age because they sound like a lot of fun and mischief. Maya, Mason’s little girl, is the icing on the cupcake and she provides the cuteness factor to their story. This book is full of witty dialogue, sharp and sexy banter and a lot of quotable quotes from Grandma Jen and her posse of old biddies.

If you're saddened by all the bad news going on in the world, this romantic comedy is the perfect escape from reality. Pure hilarity, sweet romance and steamy sex scenes are all offered in this novel. What more can you ask for? I highly recommend this book!

***5 Stars***

This was a such a fun read that was filled with great characters, a good dose of crazy and a whole bunch of heart that it made it so easy to get lost in the story that I was quite put out when there were no more words to read.

I loved Mason and Imogen aka Immy. They are both really good people with really good hearts and had me wishing I could be friends with them myself.

Their frenemies to lovers second chance romance was a lot of fun to experience. Their shared past does made things a bit bumpy and old wounds to get re-opened, but it also drew them together (along with a little outside help) and made them confront what happened and be honest with each other about where their hearts and heads were at. The chemistry between them was hot, their bantering was a lot of fun and I really liked how everything turned out for them.

With a title like Frenemies and the knowledge that prank wars would be apart of the storyline, I was prepared for a full on OTT romcom, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it didn’t go that far. Oh, the pranks were awesome, but the focus was truly on letting go of the past and reaching for the future you want. And as for the supporting cast of characters, I loved them all Fran and Matt were awesome, Maya was adorable and I cannot wait for Hannah’s book to drop. But the stars of the book were Jen and her stalker crew. These ladies were amazing and I cannot wait to see what they get up to in the next!

Frenemies by Emma Hart is a deliciously sweet, charmingly sarcastic, laugh out loud 2nd chance romance. It's a Frenemies to lovers romance that will have you doubled over in laughter; Imogen and Mason are the couple that just light up the pages with their prank wars, their sexy banter, their chemistry. Mason is a single dad and he parents like no one's biz to his lil girl. He is such a good dad. Imogen and Mason have history. Trust me, the feels, steam, chemistry will just leap off the pages as the story just plays out. I really liked Imogen and her grandma. Seriously, the secondary characters are so perfect. They add another sensational layer to the story. (Hanna's story is coming up in March).
OMG Emma Hart seriously is a Rom-Com Queen. Her stories just have me in stitches and/ or swooning. My favs!!!

Emma Hart never seems to fail to write an amazing book! She hooked me in when she said single dad - my kryptonite.

Immy and Mason were two people who used to sleep together in college. Thinking it was something more Immy was shattered when he never called her.

Years later Mason moves in next door to Immy with his daughter. Still holding a grudge Immy doesn't welcome him with open arms, she gets her water balloons filled with flour reading for payback

Immy and Mason have so much banter it makes the story amazing. Immy's grandmother also makes the story, like what Grandma do you know willingly talks about Fifty Shades and sex toys.

Mason and Immy still had fire between them, the passion was proof within the pages. It had me devouring this book so quickly

I need the next book in the series already!
